Notes : Service by Justice of the Peace E. W. Herrick.  According to Edwin Smith - Elizabeth "Betsy" was the oldest child of Jacob Geisler and Elizabeth Volk.  Jacob arrived on the ship Devotion on 6 October 1802 in Philadelphia.  He was married in Lancaster County, PA,  5 May 1807 and resided in Manor Twp where the first two children, Elizabeth and Catherine were born.  The family was enumerated in the 1810 in this location.  Jacob moved to Ohio sometime after 1810 and this is where the remainder of the children, Jacob Jr (m Eliza Webb, 11 Apr 1836), John, Liddie, Susannah, Mary Ann, and Margaret, were born.

Condensed from the Firelands Pioneer…, Jan 1920, pp. 2358 - 2363 :
Immigrated from near Riga, New York to the 'Firelands' area of Ohio, later known as Huron County in 1821/1822, with his father and family. Originally settled just across the Vermillion river west of the David Underhill place.  

In 1822 his father, David Webb, Sr. and his brother Harvey purchased from the Executors of Jonas Cook two hundred acres approximately three miles north-west of Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio in Ridgefield Township, which formed the nucleus of the Webb Settlement.  Harvey paid $250 dollars for one hundred acres on the north side and David, Sr. was left with 109 acres.  They both built log houses; Harvey’s burned in 1854.
