In 1822 her father, David Webb, Sr. and her brother Harvey purchased from the Executors of Jonas Cook two hundred acres approximately three miles north-west of Norwalk, Huron County, Ohio in Ridgefield Township, which formed the nucleus of the Webb Settlement.  Harvey paid $250 dollars for one hundred acres on the north side and David, Sr. was left with 109 acres.  They both built log houses; Harvey’s burned in 1854.
