Notes : He was born 9 April 1752 probably on Norwich, New London, Connecticut; was by occupation a Baptist preacher, later becoming a Restorationist.  He moved the family from Connecticut to Pennsylvania.  His brother Oliver Rude may have been among the ‘missing’ from Captain Jewett’s Company, Colonel Huntington’s Regiment after the Battle of Long Island, 27 August 1776.
