Macomb Henry Webb : He
served in Lamar’s Company, Alabama Volunteers during the Cherokee War, although
no battles were fought in this conflict. He applied for a pension 6 September 1892 from Georgia (sc1616), as did
his widow 24 August 1896 (wc4895).
Private Mansfield Webb :
His heirs David Webb & Mansfield Edwards, applied for a bounty land warrant
under the ScripWarrant Act of 1812; Volume 1, page 300, warrant #27422 for 160
acres. He served in Captain Kinney’s
Company, 25th Regiment United States Infantry (regulars) during the War of
1812.
Private Martin L. Webb I : Joined with

Captain Martin L. Webb : He served in Company
C, 2nd Platoon, 26 Engineer Training Battalion and Manhattan Engineers District & Counter Intelligence Corps. He later served in the Army Reserve until c.
1953. His brother William also served
in the infantry. (World War Two)
Corporal Major P. Webb :
Major, a resident of Whitewater, Wisconsin, enlisted 5 May 1861 and mustered in
to Company A, 4th Regiment Wisconsin Cavalry. He was discharged by reason of disability on 13 April 1863. He reenlisted (as Corporal), while a
resident of Richmond, Wisconsin on 25 August 1864 and mustered in to Company F,
38th Regiment Wisconsin Infantry. He
mustered out 2 June 1865. Brother of
Melvin M. Webb.
He applied for and received a
pension, 12 July 1879 for service in Co A, 4 Wis Inf, Co F, 38 Wis Inf,
& Co A, 4 Wis Cav (invalid
297675/188098). His widow, Amelia P.
Webb, applied for a pension in 1897 (widow658084). Perhaps he was married 19 September 1864 in Jefferson County,
Wisconsin.

Assistant Surgeon (Dr.)
Mellville Emerson Webb : Melville, aged 21 years, a resident of Saco,
Maine, was by occupation a Surgeon when he enlisted on 7 August 1863 and was
commissioned 13 August as Assistant Surgeon and appointed to the Staff of the
33rd Regiment Massachusetts Infantry. He was mustered out 11 June 1865. He
applied for and received a pension in 1897 from Massachusetts
(invalid606452/1102517), as did his widow Helen I. Webb circa 1928 from New
Hampshire (widow1623896/a102328); (xc940657).
Melvin Webb : He served in
Company K, 22nd Regiment United States Infantry (regulars). He applied for a pension in 1931 from
Tennessee (invalied1690248/.., c2594658)
Musician Melvin M. Webb :
He served during the Civil War as a Musician in the Band of Colonel Maurice Malony’s
(13th) Regiment Wisconsin Infantry; also service in Company B, same
regiment. The 14 member Regimental Band
was attached to the Field & Staff, and was led by Band Leader S. B. Clemons
and Drum Major John Berrie.
He resided
in Whitewater, Michigan when he enlisted 6 November 1861 and mustered in to
Company B, 13th Reg’t Wisconsin Infantry. He mustered out of Company B on 16 August 1862 and transferred to the
Band, although in January 1862 he is listed in the Band in the newspaper
(Janesville Gazette & Free Press). He applied for and received a pension in August 1890 while a resident of
Wisconsin (invalid789247/884247). Brother of Major P. Webb.

Major Mendell E. Webb :
Served as Major in the 33rd Regiment Michigan Infantry and as Captain in the
30th Regiment United States Infantry (regulars) in the Spanish-American War.
Private Michael Webb : He
served during the Revolutionary War from Pennsylvania in Captain William
Wilson’s Company of the Cumberland County Militia. He was issued a certificate (#6144) for the amount of £9 on 21
May 1785 for service.
Private Michael Webb :
Michael Webb was born in Danvers, Massachusetts. He served during the Revolutionary War under Captain Enoch
Putnam, in Colonel Mansfield’s Regiment Massachusetts (Troops). He died circa 1832 in Bridgeton,
Massachusetts.
Captain Milton Webb : He
organized a company of cavalry on 16 April 1861 in Lamar County, Texas and
mustered in on or about 18 April 1861 near Paris, Texas; attached to the
Battalion of the Regiment of the Brigade Texas Mounted Volunteers; 9th Brigade,
under command of the 9th Military District Commander, Confederate States of
America. This unit was in existence as
early as 29 December 1860. Private John
W. Webb was also in this company.

Private Miram (Hiram) Webb
: Age 32, joined and enrolled 25 September 1863 at Manlius by Captain Weed for
a term of three years. His service was
attributed to District 23 State of New York. He mustered in 14 October 1863 to Captain John Weed’s Company (F),
Colonel Elisha G. Marshall’s (14th) Regiment New York State Volunteer
Artillery.
Private Moses Webb : He was
the sixth of seven brothers, sons of Sergeant Epenetus Webb, born 18 February
1756, in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. There were Epenetus (jr), Joseph, Moses, & David among
others. He served in the 5th Regiment
(Connecticut) Infantry under Captain Samuel Hait and Colonel Philip B. Bradley. He married Polly Street of Norwich 22
November 1781; their children were Sally born July 1782, Epenetus Ferris born
21 June 1784, Deborah born 1787, Greenleaf born 2 May 1789, Ruth born 20 June
1791, born John Leland 25 February 1794, and Polly born 1797. He was on the list of Pensioners in Connecticut
in 1835, and again in 1840 while a resident of Norwalk, Connecticut, aged 84
years; he may have served as a soldier in the Revolution and the War of
1812. He died in Norwalk, 2 January
1850, aged 93 years.
Sergeant & Drummer Moses
Webb : He was born circa 1756 in Reading, Berks County, Pennsylvania. During the Revolution he served in Colonel
Russell’s Regiment, Colonel Campbell’s Regiment, & Colonel Shelby’s
Regiment Pennsylvania (Troops). He
applied for and received a pension (s3513), before he died sometime soon after
1832 in Morgan County, Illinois.
Private Moses Webb : He was
enrolled under Captain Thomas Myers’, in the Fifth Company (...?), detached from
the Perquimans County North Carolina Militia during the War of 1812.
Moses Webb : He served in
1856 in Bratton’s Washington Volunteers (Washington Territory). He died 8 October 1897 in Woodland,
Washington and his widow Mary applied for a pension 29 May 1828 (wa1615567).
Paymaster Moses F. Webb :
He was born in Connecticut. He served
in the United States Army during the Civil War in the position of Additional
Paymaster of Volunteers, effective 5 August 1861. He was dismissed from the service on 11 September 1865.
